In accordance with a letter received from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Turkey, the Embassy of Turkey in Islamabad would like to announce the following:


Due to the recent increase in the polio disease in certain parts of the world, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Turkey, on recommendation of the World Health Organization (WHO), has started "Oral Polio Vaccination" for all passengers, travelling from Turkey to the polio affected countries, a list of which is presented herebelow, at the border gates in Turkey.

In accordance with the said practice, all passengers travelling to these countries from Turkey will be immunized by one dose (two drops) of oral polio vaccine if they cannot provide that they have been immunized by oral polio vaccine within one month prior to their departure date.

In case of refusal to be vaccinated, these passengers will be asked to sign a paper acknowledging that they are willingly refusing to be vaccinated.

The names of the countries where poliomyelitis disease is endemic are:

- Pakistan
- Afghanistan
- India
- Nigeria
- Tajikistan.
